A few useful answers before you convert, resize or compress.
How do I compress images?
Use the quality slider in the main workspace to reduce the file size of JPG and still WebP images locally. Choose Original format and leave dimensions unchanged for compression only. Start at 80% quality, adjust individual rows if needed, and click a thumbnail to compare the original and compressed image. Download compresses and saves in one step. When format and dimensions stay the same, the original file is kept if the result is not smaller. PNG optimization and animated WebP compression are not supported yet.
How do I resize images?
Use the Resize controls above the table or the dimensions in each image row. Each image starts at its original dimensions. Edit width or height in pixels and download. The linked chain icon automatically updates the other dimension using the original aspect ratio. Batch width or height applies separately to each unchanged image. Enlarging is allowed; a warning appears when an output is larger than its original because it may look softer or pixelated. Unlink the chain icon to edit dimensions independently, which can stretch an image. Each row can override the batch settings.
Choose Original to keep PNG, JPG or WebP format, including transparency. You can also change format and quality while resizing. GIF becomes a still image. Resizing runs locally and is completely free.
How do I change an image format online?
Choose images or drag files onto the canvas. Select JPG, PNG or WebP in the output format control, then use the download button beside an image or Download all. The tool converts and downloads your images in one step. No account or image upload is required.
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Add your PNG images and choose JPG as the output format. Adjust quality if needed. If a PNG has transparent pixels, choose a background color because JPG cannot preserve transparency. Select Download all for the batch, or download an individual image from its row.
Can I convert WebP to PNG or JPG?
Yes. Add WebP images and select PNG to preserve existing transparency, or JPG for an opaque image. You can also convert JPG or PNG to WebP in compatible browsers. Changing the format does not restore detail already lost through compression, and a different format is not guaranteed to produce a smaller file.
Are JPG and JPEG the same format?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are different filename extensions for the same image format. You can add either to this converter; JPEG output is downloaded with the .jpg extension.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Image previews, transparency checks and conversions happen in your browser. The converter does not upload your images or filenames. Visiting the website still involves loading it from a host; see the Privacy Policy for details about analytics, advertising and your choices.
Which image formats can I use?
You can add PNG, JPG, WebP and GIF images, up to 25 MB per file. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP as the output. Support depends on your browser. Animated images are not preserved as animations when converted.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Select multiple files or drag them onto the canvas. Use Download all to convert and save the batch, or the download button in a row to save only that image. Files download individually, not as a ZIP. Allow multiple downloads if your browser asks.
How do the shared settings work?
The format, dimensions, quality and background controls above the canvas set the defaults. New images and rows using defaults follow those settings automatically. Changing a row gives it its own settings. Use its reset button to return it to the current defaults.
Why can’t I change quality for PNG?
PNG uses lossless encoding, so there is no adjustable quality setting. JPG and WebP have a quality slider: lower values can reduce file size but may lose detail. Converting a previously compressed image to PNG will not restore lost detail or guarantee a smaller file.
When can I choose a background color?
The background picker is available when a PNG or WebP image has detected transparency and you choose JPG output. JPG cannot keep transparency, so those areas are filled with your chosen color. A PNG or WebP file without transparent pixels does not need this control. PNG and WebP output can preserve existing transparency; conversion does not remove a solid background.
Can I preview or rename an image?
Click its thumbnail to open a larger preview and compare the original with the prepared output. Edit the image name in its row to change the download filename. The output extension is added automatically; your original file is not renamed or modified.
Why did a download fail or not appear?
Check whether your browser blocked multiple downloads and look in its downloads list. If a row reports an error, try downloading it individually or choose another output format. Very large image dimensions can exceed browser memory even when the file is below 25 MB. Keep your originals and check downloaded results.
What happens when I remove an image or close the tab?
Removing a row clears it from the converter, not from your device. Refreshing or closing the page ends the working session; the tool does not keep a saved image library. Your original files and any copies you have downloaded remain on your device.
Is the tool free?
Yes. All image conversions and downloads are completely free. There are no fees, subscriptions or sign-up requirements. Advertising helps support the service. Ad availability depends on Google approval, your privacy choices and available ads; unused advertising spaces remain blank.
